1) they securely cap off any leaks from the hose during transport and storage, reducing slip and fall hazards and chemical or fuel spills. (So much better than stuffing a rag in the hose).
2) the safety bump extends beyond the hose and coupling diameter, so when the hose is inevitably dropped on its fitting, the Safety Bump cap or plug takes the brunt of the impact rather than the coupling.
2-1/2: This also prevents metal to metal scraping against hose trays on bulk hauler vehicles.
3) The over-sized handle gives the operator a secure point to lift and drag hose assemblies, decreasing risk of injury as well as preventing damage from pulling the hose by the cam arm.

The Safety Lock™ cam guard clip prevents cam lock arms from opening during standard use. Clicks into place for confirmation of proper installation. These can be affixed to the cam-arm or ring with a lanyard or tie.
